MIXED MEDIA PAINTING with ALCOHOL INK and POSCA [70]
A MIXED MEDIA PAINTING
With alcohol ink and posca markers.
Overworking... when is it too much.... when do you need to stop.
It is so easy to overwork and do to much. I find this to be true with most types op paintings - done with acrylics, alcohol ink and more - but especially when I am doing any kind of abstract mixed media painting.
Like I mentioned in the video, I do think I over did it, but after some thinking... I kind of like it anyway. How much do you struggle with overworking you're paintings...?
Mixed media can be so much fun - with this I "only" used markers and alcohol ink, but I think is was enough to make it really interesting.
I absolutely love posca markers, especially for drawing on alcohol ink. There are so many colors, you can always find one that matches your painting.
In this tutorial I used Nara paper, grain alcohol and copic ink - BG 09 and RV 69. And of course Piñata Brass.
If you would like to see some more alcohol ink tutorials, both for beginners and more advanced, here are some videos that I thought you might like and hopefully find useful:

I do this a lot and I'm a little sad more people don't do this - It can help you soooo much when painting with alcohol ink. Easy alcohol ink airbrush techniques for beginners. The airbrush can be tricky, especially for newbies. I speak from experience....LOL. But her are some of the airbrush techniques I have found the easiest to do. The reason why I like these two pieces is because they're not too "pretty"..... Using the airbrush this way gives them something more interesting - especially the purple flower. All the...

How to control alcohol ink with your hairdryer [62]
Переглядів 28 тис.2 роки тому
HOW TO CONTROL ALCOHOL INK - for beginners. Controlling alcohol ink with your hairdryer is probably one of the most difficult things with this medium. Alcohol ink is never as easy as it looks. As an alcohol ink beginner, the hairdryer is usually the first thing you try with ink. And like most of us experienced in the beginning, it can seem almost impossible to control the ink. The hairdryer is ...

MINIMALIST ALCOHOL INK ART with simple “double” posca markers / doodle art [59]
Переглядів 5 тис.2 роки тому
Alcohol ink art with posca marker doodling. When I doodle on my alcohol ink paintings it's usually a very simple kind of doodling. Sometimes less is more. I like the markers to create something interesting and eye catching but I don't want it to take over the whole painting - I want the doodle and the alcohol ink to come together and not out shine each other. It's finding a balance.... It's so ...

ALCOHOL INK - soft ripples and dotting [57]

Alcohol ink painting with negative space, soft ripples, wispy stuff…. you name it, this piece got it lol. This is a little bit different from what I usualy in my videos. Don't think i've ever made a tutorial with alcohol ink dotting so I thought it was about time. Dotting with alcohol gives a piece such a cool affect. It's so detailed to look at and sometimes even gives it a 3 dimensional look....

Love it! Can I ask what the name is of the pen/bottle you have your alcohol in - it looks easy to control.
Awesome Teqnigue. Thank you. 🙏
Just what I was looking for. Thank you🙏
You are an amazing teacher. Thank you😊
Gorgeous❣️❣️❣️❣️
What type of dryer are you using? Love your piece!
What weight of Nara Paper do you use?
I want to alcohol ink my samsung tablet cover. Any suggestions?
What is the setting you have your hair dryer on?
Need to have a video on how to varnish alcohol inks.
How much alcohol do you add to the ink? How much metallic?
I happen to like it a lot
Thank you for the tips, I like the idea of less is more!
How does a heat gun work better than the dryer?
If you don’t have a HEAT gun….can you dry it with the hair dryer?
Great. What kind o paper u use. Yupo ? What kind of yupo?
I think she may be using Grafix Craft Plastic since she's able to wipe it back so clean. I could be wrong, hope she answers for you 🙂
At the end, you were concerned you might not have enough alcohol to reach the end of your shape. What do you do in that case? Adding alcohol in the middle is obviously a disaster; adding it at the beginning means you won't have much color left in that area. Is there a trick? Or is the trick just to learn to use the right amount? Lol! This seems to happen to me frequently... Your videos are always so helpful to me, and I refer back to the same ones frequently when I get stuck and need a reminder or two (or ten). I also love to listen to you speak. I know you're based in Denmark, but you don't sound Danish. Where are you from? I would have said you were American, but there are a few sounds that make me think otherwise. Anyway, I love linguistics and am just curious!
Thanks, very helpful
You’re very welcome 😊
Very much a newbie here but you are such a good teacher. I really like your explanations of what you’re doing and why! No talking on this one, so don’t know why you are using a blower on such a big piece? You don’t seem to use them very much. Thanks.
Thank you so much 😊 I think I was just in the mood to work slowly 😄 and challenge myself a bit. And yes I mostly use my hairdryer
Very nice 👌
Thank you 😊
Love it!!! Go Girl! 🎉
😄🤩🤩
Going to try this .. thanks for the tutorial! ❤
You’re very welcome 😊
Great advice. I need to follow the "less is more" mentality in all forms of art. You can easily take things too far and lose your way.
Glad you liked it. Yes, it’s tricky knowing when to stop ✋I’ve struggled with that too
Tak for fin video,, Kunne man spray male og opnå lignednd resultat
Velbekommen ☺️ har ikke prøvet det, så aner det ikke. 🫣 du må prøve
Thank you, I am learning just started working with alcohol ink
You’re welcome ☺️ hope you are having fun
I got it right today for the first time but still have to practice a lot stil!! I still tend to use too many colours....
Wuhuuu 😃 just keep practicing and nothing wrong with lots of colors
Lovvvve your style. Learnt a lot by just watching two tutorials. Still feeling my way...just started. From Sunny South Africa 😊
So glad you like the tutorials 😄 I hope you have lots of fun 🤩
I definitely thought English was your first language. How do you not have an accent?? Sorry to be nosy 😅 I really like the embellishments. I’ve been looking for ideas.
Glad you liked it. And thanks for the compliment ☺️ I really liked learning English in school (a long long time ago 🤣 ) Also watched a lot of movies as a kid, so that probably helped me learn more. But Danish is definitely my first language 😀🇩🇰
Hej Randi.
I love it
Thank you ☺️
I'm new to this, made some disasters, bought a couple of tools that were not useful, a heat gun with no variable settings that is really hot & nothing else & air brush combo with attachments that works exactly the same way as the little black puffer, one puff at a time. So apparently, I've done everything you have just cautioned against.☺ I'm not upset about my useless purchases because now at least, after watching your video, I can have a do-over with the correct supplies & I may even be able to create something because of the techniques demonstrated in your video. Why, I wonder, in over 2 years of saving pins & watching videos did I not ever see anyone explaining & showing exactly how to move the ink. That's why I kept getting fingers. It's funny that sometimes it's the simple things that are the most important that are overlooked. I can't thank you enough for your video & I hope you continue because I can't be the only person who appreciates clear information. You did a wonderful job & yes your hair looks pretty.🥰
Thank you very much ❤️❤️ the whole reason I started making tutorials was because I wished when I was new at ink, I a had found someone who would explain everything in details…. all the tiny little things that makes such a difference when painting with ink. I’m sooo glad you found the video helpful
Thank you for this good to understand video, very helpfull
You’re very welcome ☺️
Thanks for the useful tips. Looking for latex paint in the UK, I came to realise we call it emulsion paint. Strangely, latex paint contains no latex.
You’re welcome ☺️ I have no idea how they come up with names for these things lol
GORGEOUS!!!!
Thank you very much ❤️
Amazing!!
Thank you 😊
❤❤Beautiful
Thank you 😊
Nara is wrapping with heat gun
Your heat gun is probably way too hot 🥵
Gorgeous!
Thank you 😊
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. This was very helpful. I now might dare to try alcohol ink my self. I always thought it to bee too difficult. 🤗😃
You’re very welcome ☺️ it can be difficult at first but with practice it will soon get easier
ha...I thought you were actually using it to create a shelf. I am gonna do this for shelving (seal it of course) for a salon.
I have used one I made as a shelf 🤓 it looks so cool 😎
sooooo helpful!!1
Makes me happy 😃
Late to this video, but I think it's beautiful!
Thank you very much 😊
Only just found your video, off out tomorrow to get that type of hair dryer. Great great information ❤
Hope you really like the hairdryer 😊

19:25 Good to know my struggle with Piñata Silver is the ink.. not just me.
It’s not you 😀

@@randihart5731 No problem. I love your videos and will be using them. I did some alcohol inks a number of years ago but want to work on that whispy effect. Again thank you!
